Singlepitching is a lead-climbing discipline where you climb from ground to a single anchor point. If there are multiple anchor points on the route, it is called Multipitching.
Prerequisities
Knowledge
To perform singlepitching safely, one must learn the following techniques.
- Clipping ( clipping, quickdraw safe use, carabiner safe use)
- Lead-climb Belaying
- Lead-climb foot placement
- Building an anchor (and setting-up a toprope)
- Cleaning-up the anchor and get lowered
- Abseiling
- Bailing a route from a single bolt
