Singlepitching is a lead-climbing discipline where you climb from ground to a single anchor point. If there are multiple anchor points on the route, it is called Multipitching.

Prerequisites

Knowledge

To perform singlepitching safely, one must learn the following techniques:

Gear

  • Climbing rope (dynamic, twice as long as the length of the routes you plan to climb)
  • Carabiners (a few D-carabiners based on what is your plan, at least one HMS carabiner per climber)
  • Sling for building an Anchor
  • Quickdraws (enough for the amount of bolts on a route, it is handy to have a few extra)
  • Belay device
  • Harness
  • Climbing shoes
  • Topo of the crag
  • Small medkit

Consumables

  • Water
  • Food
  • Sun protection
